Tackling Hate Crime Fund - Grants Awarded 2019-20

This fund, hosted by Northamptonshire’s Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner on behalf of Northamptonshire’s Community Safety Board. The Board provided a one off funding pot of £11,000 to tackle hate crime and incidents across Northamptonshire. The judging panel was made up of statutory service representatives from the Hate Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour delivery group which reports into the Community Safety Board. The projects needed to meet one or more of the following criteria:

 

  • Support victims of hate crime or hate incidents
  • Support confidence in reporting
  • Support work with offenders/potential offenders to successfully change behaviour and promote community cohesion

The event aim was to educate people with learning disabilities about their rights to inclusion and safety in the county, and to raise awareness of hate crime and discrimination.

Bid Outline – Bringing up to 75 people from our diverse communities together and introduce them to ways of using strategic communications (Framing) theory and practice to create new ways of preventing hate, challenging prejudice and understanding around equality.   Creating a toolkit.
