Tackling Hate Crime Fund - Grants Awarded 2019-20
This fund, hosted by Northamptonshire’s Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner on behalf of Northamptonshire’s Community Safety Board. The Board provided a one off funding pot of £11,000 to tackle hate crime and incidents across Northamptonshire. The judging panel was made up of statutory service representatives from the Hate Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour delivery group which reports into the Community Safety Board. Increasing reporting and improved services to victims
To host a conference (held during hate crime awareness week 2019) for people with learning disabilities and local organisations to come together. The event aim was to educate people with learning disabilities about their rights to inclusion and safety in the county, and to raise awareness of hate crime and discrimination.

Increased reporting, services to victims, positive impact on community cohesion
By taking reports of hate crime, and in essence acting as a 3rd party, it is expected that the project would facilitate reporting of all strands of hate crime from within a hard to reach community
Bid Outline – A hate crime reporting project alongside 2 open events with the local community to raise awareness around Hate crime with guest speakers, including the Police.

The bid provides an interesting and new project, which potentially could bring some best practice into the County whilst working with both local and national partners.
Bid Outline – Bringing up to 75 people from our diverse communities together and introduce them to ways of using strategic communications (Framing) theory and practice to create new ways of preventing hate, challenging prejudice and understanding around equality. Creating a toolkit.
