Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) are similar to regular police officers – however their work is focused on remaining on the beat, rather than processing prisoners and investigating crime.
PCSOs were introduced to supplement the role of Constables, who – given their wide array of powers – can often be taken away from their core role of providing a visible presence on the streets, and being the front-face of policing. PCSOs are able to stay within communities to keep-up that presence.
As part of our joint working and empowering communities initiatives, you can sponsor a PCSO who will be dedicated to your area. To find out more, read the brochure and fill in the contact form below.
