The Youth Commission of Northamptonshire enables young people to support, challenge and inform the work of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, Mr Stephen Mold, and other services including Northamptonshire Police and Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service (NFRS). This is an important role as it helps the Commissioner, Police and Fire make better decisions to meet and understand the needs of local young people.
20 young people from across the County were selected to be part of Northamptonshire’s first Youth Commission and they met in May to decide the topics they wanted to focus on.
The Youth Commission had a “Big Conversation” across the Summer to seek the views of as many young people as possible, achieving over 1,100 responses. They have now met with key stakeholders to plan what action needs to be taken based on the results of the Big Conversation and to create change for young people across Northamptonshire. The results will be posted soon!
Applications can be accepted until 29 February 2020, but places will be filled throughout the month. So if you’re aged between 14 and 19 and interested in making a difference, get your application in now!
