The Youth Commission allows young people to get involved in and express their views on a range of issues affecting our communities where they live. The Youth Commission of Northamptonshire enables young people to support, challenge and inform the work of the Police and Crime Commissioner Mr Stephen Mold and other services including Northamptonshire Police. This is an important role, as it helps the Commissioner and Police make better decisions to meet and understand the needs of local young people.

This role is open to anyone aged 11-24 years living in the Northamptonshire policing area. We are looking for people who will be good team players, who will be committed to the project and willing to do all the activities involved. We’re looking to ensure that the Youth Commission is made up of a diverse group of young people who broadly reflect the make-up of the local population, including those who may have direct experience of the police and justice system. In total, we are currently looking to recruit between 30-40 young people.
During 2017/18, members of the Youth Commission will:

Once we receive your application we will then carry out some informal conversations with a shortlist of applicants over the phone and those shortlisted will be invited to an informal interview on a number of dates and locations across the county.
